Commissioners keep 40 mph limit; Highway Superintendent previews bridges slated for 2030–31

Highway Superintendent John Pluimer told the board that construction on Bridge 56 and Bridge 57 is scheduled to begin in 2030–2031 and that SJCA recommended retaining the current 40 mph speed limit on the stretch of road in question. Commissioner Dan Borgenheimer moved to keep the 40 mph limit; Commissioner Laura Coons seconded and the motion passed 3-0.
Pluimer also reported damage to a guardrail at the intersection of 400 N and 100 E and said the contractor Hoosier Pride will need to repair it. He discussed detour planning for contractors but no formal detour decision was recorded in the minutes.
