Board approves barn for Lisonbee Ridge tourist home; owners say it’s for family use

The Brown County BZA approved a site-plan amendment to add a 36-by-36 livestock barn at Lisonbee Ridge, 2477 Lanham Ridge Road, after staff recommended approval and the property owner told the board the barn would be for family use.
Staff explained the property already holds special-exception authority for tourist-home use dating to the early 1990s and that the proposed barn would not change the number of guests or septic configuration. Owner Crystal Green said the farmhouse is her primary residence and that a previous barn burned, requiring a replacement. "This is my primary residence — I live there all the time... this barn is for my family and I in our backyard," she told the board.
Board members said they saw no outstanding issues and voted by roll call to approve the amendment. Staff will provide written confirmation of approval.
