At their Oct. 7 meeting the Charles City County Wetlands Board and the Chesapeake Bay Preservation Board recorded the following formal recommendations and votes:
- WB-02-2024 / CBPA-03-2024 — Application by Clay Jackson for a 365-foot pier at 8824 Wilcox Neck Road: recommended approval by the Wetlands Board (motion by Clyde L. Miles, second Joanne Daniel) and recommended approval by the CBPA (motion by E. Van Pearce, second Clyde L. Miles). Vote: 4–0 in both boards. Conditions: licensed site plan, building permit, native landscaping, pre-construction meeting, E&S measures, $1,000 surety.
- WB-03-2024 / CBPA-04-2024 — Application by Blue Ridge Power to install ~28,000 linear feet of underground medium-voltage line for Keydet Solar South: recommended approval by the Wetlands Board (motion by E. Van Pearce, second Joanne Daniel) and CBPA (motion by E. Van Pearce, second Joanne Daniel). Vote: 4–0 in both boards. Conditions: licensed site plan, building permit, native landscaping, E&S measures, pre-construction meeting, DEQ monitoring, and noted decommissioning surety (reported at $2.3 million).
- Minutes: The board approved the Aug. 5, 2024 minutes on a 4–0 vote (motion by Chair Charles H. Carter III, second by Clyde L. Miles).
