County staff requested authorization for the County Judge to execute RFPPC 24-42, the Parker County Jail Management Services agreement awarded to Southwestern Correctional LLC / DAB LaSalle Corrections in August 2024. Staff said the agreement has been drafted and is ready for execution. "This is a contract or RFP that was awarded back in August, and they've drawn up the agreement now, and it's ready to be executed," staff stated.
Separately, county budget staff reported jail occupancy and the use of out-of-county housing have exceeded the current budget line, and the Sheriff's Department requested an additional $225,000 from program contingencies to cover contract services for the remainder of the fiscal year. The court moved and approved the transfer by a unanimous voice vote. The judge approved execution of the contract in a separate motion; both actions carried 5-0.
