Elko County review lists past CDBG projects and possible infrastructure candidates for FY26

The presenter reviewed Elko County’s history with CDBG-funded work and cited several examples of past projects: a Tuscarora water storage tank replacement (engineering phase), Montello exploratory wells, Tuscarora water system PERs received in 2022, coronavirus-related subrecipients (Nevada Health Centers, Boys & Girls Club, Northern Nevada Head Start), the Jarbidge Water System waterline extension (2010), and a Mountain City wastewater engineering study (2009).
Looking ahead, the staff member proposed potential FY26 candidates for application including Montello sewer pond relining, a new welded water storage tank construction phase for Tuscarora, transmission and distribution mains, and a Mountain City sewer pipeline upgrade. The presenter noted that some small projects may not qualify if they serve the entire community rather than an LMI area, and reiterated the option of conducting an LMI survey for places like Jarbidge to establish eligibility.
