Hall County planning commission accepts withdrawal of Athens Highway truck-terminal rezoning request

Katie Greenway, Planning and Zoning Administrator, told the commission “the applicant has requested to withdraw both item A and B.” Commissioners recorded motions and votes accepting the withdrawal, each passing 5-0.
The application covered an 18.06± acre tract on the north side of Athens Highway at its intersection with Athens Street (Tax Parcel 15032E002012A). The applicant, Fast Lube Solutions, LLC c/o Kevin Herbert, had sought to rezone the parcel to Highway Business and obtain approval for a truck terminal consisting of approximately 53 tractor-trailer parking spaces paved with asphalt and located within the Gateway Corridors Overlay District. The minutes note the property already contains a metal building previously approved for automobile repair and maintenance with seven conditions.
With the withdrawal recorded, the commission took no further action on the rezoning or use request. The withdrawal was made via motion (moved by Gina Pilcher, seconded by Stan Sosebee) and recorded as a 5-0 vote. The file remains closed for this meeting; any future action would require a new filing by the applicant.
