McIntosh County commissioners reappoint leadership, name legal organ and depository for 2026

The McIntosh County Board of Commissioners unanimously reappointed Kate Karwacki as chairperson and Davis Poole as vice-chairman for calendar year 2026 during its Jan. 13 regular meeting at Darien City Hall. The board also reappointed Sherrell Davis as county clerk and approved administrative designations for the year.
Commissioner Davis Poole moved to reappoint Karwacki as chair and to reappoint Sherrell Davis as county clerk; both motions were seconded and carried unanimously. The board voted to establish the Darien News as the county’s legal organ and to declare Southeastern Bank the county depository for 2026. Each motion was approved by unanimous vote. The actions formalize who will hold leadership and administrative responsibilities and which local institutions the county will use for public notices and deposits for the calendar year.
The motions were made and seconded on the record; the meeting minutes reflect unanimous approval of the appointments and designations.
