Brown County APC elects officers and discusses planning items; meeting continues after rezoning vote

The Brown County Area Planning Commission opened its Feb. 24 meeting by electing officers for the coming year. Members nominated and approved Carol Bowden as president and Randy (Jones) as vice president; Dave Schilling was nominated as legal counsel and Danielle as secretary. The commission then approved minutes from the Dec. 16, 2025 meeting.
Following the rezoning hearing and vote, staff and commissioners addressed routine matters including inspector reports, a minor subdivision forthcoming on Sweetwater Trail, and continued discussion of the comprehensive plan update. Staff offered to provide contact cards and upcoming meeting dates to members of the public who want to follow the County Commissioners’ agenda for the rezoning item. The meeting ended after a motion to adjourn passed by voice vote.
