Court to move SB22-funded prosecutor into general fund to free SB22 dollars
Summary
The court agreed in principle to charge a prosecutor position (approx. $138,000) to general-government funds rather than SB22 funds, freeing SB22 monies for other uses; commissioners asked staff to reflect the reclassification in the second draft while verifying math.

The judge raised a proposed change to how a prosecutor position is funded. The position had been charged in the first draft to SB22 funds; the judge and several commissioners supported moving that position (estimated cost $137,722) into general government funding so the SB22 allocation could be used elsewhere.
Commissioner Stacy said shifting the prosecutor to the general fund should balance the other revisions made in the meeting, and commissioners asked staff to verify that the numbers align in the second draft. The court directed staff to include the change in the next packet and to clarify the remaining SB22 balance.
