County approves no-cost change order to finalize booking room remodel after HVAC troubleshooting

County facilities staff reported the booking room remodel reached certificate of occupancy Jan. 13 after additional troubleshooting of an older HVAC system and related ductwork. Staff said Operix (general contractor) provided documentation supporting time extensions, and county maintenance performed duct sealing and subsequent testing.
Giles told the court the project was complete and that change order No. 045 is a no-cost change to document the extended timeline. "We passed our gel inspection on that day and received our certificate of occupancy just a few days after that," Giles said. The court approved the change order on a motion and voice vote that passed 5–0.
Staff noted a small number of retainage or final payments may remain but said the project was functionally complete. The court authorized staff to finalize documentation and payment records as appropriate.
