"So the idea would be in my mind is to move money and to get to a guaranteed maximum price on the sheriff's office and then fund it," Stacy said. Commissioner Bailey warned against simply moving funds between projects without clear accounting, while Stacy countered that the court was "maximizing our efforts" to fund priority public-safety projects. The court agreed to increase the transfer to $2,000,000 in the next draft of the budget to enable contract finalization and to keep the sheriff remodel moving forward.
