The Victoria ISD Board of Trustees formally canvassed the results of the May 2, 2026 bond election and certified Proposition A as passing by a narrow margin.
Karen Klein, Victoria County elections administrator, read the official tally: "3,799 for, 3,690 against, total votes cast of 7,489. That would be 50.73% for and 49.27% against." After a trustee moved to accept the canvass and a second was recorded, the board proceeded with the routine approval process.
The board recorded the canvass motion and moved on to related election business. The chair later announced he would issue certificates for the winners.
The canvass was taken up at the special meeting called May 6, 2026. The board's action to accept the returns followed standard election procedure and was announced publicly during the meeting.
