County approves $750,000 federal scoping funds for SR‑42 widening; SPLOST match set at $187,500

Staff said the project was selected for federal transportation funding through the 2024 TIP solicitation and carries $750,000 for scoping; a 20% local match of $187,500 is required. The match will be funded from SPLOST and will be apportioned among county districts and the City of Locust Grove (staff cited $82,350 from District 1, $32,025 from District 5 and approximately $73,125 from the city). "Following board approval, this project will move forward to procurement of the design for the scoping work," the presenter (Bert) said, adding that GDOT will manage procurement and scoping is likely to take roughly 10 months to a year. The board voted to approve the framework agreement and funding match plan.
