"We were able to get in on some bipartisan infrastructure law funding for that," acting field manager Brady Owens said, and the work will include moving fences and other minor site improvements to improve visitor access and resilience.
Owens indicated the contract process delayed the start but that construction will begin once the contractor mobilizes. The pad will provide parking adjacent to the restroom and includes ancillary work to reduce livestock access to the campground and improve the visitor experience; Owens characterized the project as a relatively small, targeted accessibility improvement.
