County approves $637,977.81 purchase of breathing apparatuses for Fire Rescue; elevator camera replacement authorized

The court authorized purchase of 55 self-contained breathing apparatuses from Casco Industries for $637,977.81, funds budgeted from equipment purchase. Staff said this acquisition was discussed during budget planning and will replace aging gear.
"This is the purchase of the, self contained breathing apparatus for firefighters that was discussed during budget time," the presenter said. In a related equipment vote, commissioners authorized replacement of five cameras in the district courthouse elevators from APIC Solutions for $23,512.50 using TIPs funds (contract number 250106). Both motions passed by unanimous vote.
