Steve Simpson presented the hospital scorecard and highlighted upward trends in patient-satisfaction and provider-communication scores, lower employee turnover and steady admission and surgical volumes. "Patients gave us high marks... we did see our overall rating go up just a little bit as well," Simpson said while pointing to improved scores and ongoing efforts to keep hospital-acquired infection rates low through hand-hygiene work.
Simpson also reviewed capital spending: the hospital reported nearly $10 million spent over the last two years and about $4 million year-to-date, with roughly $5 million invested in capital improvements in the facility (projects include MRI and x-ray remodeling and equipment replacement). He said a substantial back-office and supply-chain upgrade will go live in October and described a badge-swipe security update to tighten access control across the site.
