Staff presented photographs showing progressive deterioration of a carport at 514 South Blackwell and noted no permits had been submitted during a prior extension. The owner has an active water account and no outstanding liens, but the carport's roof damage led staff to recommend condemnation.
"Carport has significant roof damage," Richard said, and the council, after closing the public hearing, voted to adopt Ordinance 2025-4079 ordering the owner to remove the carport within the ordinance timelines unless the owner undertakes approved repairs and provides documentation. The ordinance identifies the property and the record owner and instructs the Dangerous Building Inspection Board and the City Secretary to take prescribed actions to notify the owner and, if necessary, allow the city to remove the structure and assess costs.
