County staff told the joint meeting they held seven public open houses and collected more than 900 online survey responses to shape the draft T‑SPLOST 2 project list. Staff said the most cited concerns were traffic congestion, intersection delays and road conditions such as potholes.
"Over the last couple months, the SPAWS department team held 7 public open houses having about 40 to 50 residents come out and... we also had an online survey running alongside that where we collected over 900 survey respondents," Clayton Cart said. Cart and other staff said they would share the full presentation with municipal partners and provide updated revenue and population share figures using 2024 numbers.
Officials asked for clarity on the population base used for project distribution; staff said the draft used 2020 figures but that the county is willing to use 2024 population numbers so municipalities can plan with consistent shares. County staff also said they are monitoring sales tax collections and fuel‑price volatility and will refine the revenue estimate before any final decision.
