County to apply for $1.6M SS4A grant to improve Willow Lane and Industrial Boulevard

Baker told the board the corridor is a high‑priority safety candidate: “In fact, in the last 5 years, there were 378 crashes in that road segment. Out of those, 7 crashes involved fatalities and serious injuries.” Commissioners supported pursuing the grant, noting that local matches from SPLOST/T‑SPLOST or impact fees enable leveraging federal funds. The board approved the application and the commitment of the $400,000 local match.
