Elko County School District details 20¢ levy, school projects and $1M donation for security upgrades

Stahlke described school safety investments, saying the district received two COPS grants (one in FY23 and one in FY24, each for $500,000) and a $1,000,000 donation from Nevada Gold Mines to upgrade telecommunications and cameras. She said the district is implementing Syntegix alert badges and aims to create single-entry access points and keyless-door systems where feasible, acknowledging challenges with aging buildings and modular classrooms.
