Coosa County Commission reschedules Feb. hearing, plans to address road vacation March 10

The Coosa County Commission voted unanimously Jan. 27 to cancel the publication of a public hearing originally scheduled for Feb. 10, 2026, and to re-set the hearing for March 10, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. Commissioner Bertha K. McElrath moved ‘‘to cancel the publication of notice of a public hearing currently set on February 10, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., re-set the public hearing for March 10, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., with the road vacation to be addressed during the Commission Meeting, following at 9:00 a.m. on said date, and re-publish the notice,’’ and Commissioner John Forbus seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The action was taken during a brief special meeting convened in the Commission Courtroom. Chair Lamar Daugherty recorded the roll call showing himself, Vice-Chair Brandon Davis, Commissioner John Forbus and Commissioner Bertha K. McElrath present; Commissioner Ronnie Joiner was not present. The commission also approved the meeting agenda at the start of the session and then adjourned after the vote.
