The Geneva County Commission on Oct. 15 approved a resolution authorizing up to $57,091 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) revenue-replacement funds to buy a vehicle for the Geneva County Sheriff's Office. The motion was made by Commissioner Bart Wilks, seconded by Commissioner Wade Fulford, and passed 2-0.
The resolution requires the county administrator to ensure purchases comply with state competitive-bid laws and that vendors are not disbarred or excluded from receiving federal funds. The ARPA resolution also states funds must be obligated by Dec. 31, 2024 and expended by Dec. 31, 2026 if applicable to ARPA timelines.
