Commission receives updates on courthouse and Farm Center renovations; front steps to be resurfaced

County officials reported progress Aug. 12 on multiple facility projects: contractors had begun coating the Farm Center roof and painting arena wall panels, flooring for the Farm Center had arrived and installation was scheduled to start, and demolition had begun on courthouse bathrooms and a basement sewer line. Some HVAC work had also started at the courthouse.
Officials announced resurfacing of the front Courthouse steps would begin with grinding of the old surface midweek. The front entrance would be closed on Thursday and Friday and public access redirected to the north double doors; the steps were expected to be cured and the front entrance reopened by Monday, Aug. 19, 2024. The commission scheduled an OAC meeting for Thursday related to the renovation work.
