Commissioners accepted the contribution by voice vote after a motion and second from the dais.
Commissioners and county staff framed the contribution as an extension of an ongoing partnership with WVU Medicine and the county health department, citing past collaboration on vaccination clinics and community programs. The commission's chair said the investment will "sustain the services that [the health department] provide and help grow the services they provide for years," and commissioners posed no objections before approving the donation. Wright described the system's statewide clinical network and said the gift is intended to support local preventative care and population‑health initiatives in Monongalia County.
