County annex project ahead of schedule; contractor proposes credit back to county

Contractor Broadus told the court the annex tilt wall work is nearly complete and that a proposed change order will credit the county more than $43,000; construction will proceed to panel erection and MEP underground work next.
Representatives from Broadus reported construction progress on Rockwall County's planned annex and said the project was slightly ahead of schedule and would return a credit to the county.
"We are actually a little more than a week ahead of schedule," Broadus said, and noted a proposed change order that will be a credit. The team described completed work on casting beds, utility crossings across Yellowjacket Road and upcoming crane and panel erection for the tilt‑wall panels. Broadus also said submittals and delegated design items (structural steel and panel boards) are moving through procurement and deliveries are being scheduled.
County staff and the contractor highlighted safety coordination, traffic control phasing for utility work and an anticipated timeline for concrete mockups. The court took the update as information and asked staff to return PCOs (potential change orders) for formal agenda approval at the next meeting.
