After Dunbar Bridge struck by car, highway supervisor plans repairs; resident urges attention to flood-prone rail crossing

Maddox also briefed the board on other highway matters: a persistent signal fault at the highway truck barn traced to underground wiring over 25 years old, $176,000 approved for repairs on ULD 600 N & 775 W related to detour damage, a state-approved $19,054 project on the east county line, and marking 225 E for utility locates and safety improvements.
During public comment, a resident identified as Mike from Madison Township asked whether the county will replace a bridge over a railroad track, noting that about nine families lack an alternate route when the area floods. Commissioner Rick Woodall said no decision has been made and reiterated that it is a county road and will be maintained; no replacement timeline was provided.
