Gooding County reserves $8,467 to fund prosecutorial services contract with Lincoln County

On Jan. 5 the Gooding County Board of County Commissioners approved Resolution No. 2026-01-07a to carry forward unexpended contract funds totaling $8,467.00 into the next contractual year to pay for prosecutorial services provided under an interlocal agreement with Lincoln County. Commissioner Vern Eames moved to approve the resolution; Commissioner Ron Buhler seconded and the motion carried.
The minutes state the agreement provides prosecutorial services under Idaho Code § 59-907 and that counties are authorized under Idaho Code § 31-1605A to carry reserved fund balances into the following year. The contract period was recorded as expiring Jan. 13, 2026 and renewed to Jan. 13, 2027; the carried balance will be reserved specifically for prosecutorial services under that agreement.
