Joshua Thurston of Caliber South, LLC attended the meeting to describe his company's IT services and business experience. Thurston told commissioners he has personally provided IT services since 2011 and that Caliber South has been operating for three years; he said current local clients include Geneva County E911, Slocomb Fire & Rescue, Hartford Police Department and support services for local school systems.
Chairman Toby Seay said the county is mid-way through a virtualization project and is preparing for a state audit of IT provisions; he asked Thurston to provide references, details of enterprise experience and his education so the Commission could consider the proposal later. Commissioners took no immediate action and asked staff to collect references and further documentation before any procurement decision.
