Board approves purchase of two Suburbans to replace high-mileage vehicles

Administration explained the vehicles slated to be replaced include 2013 Suburban models that have been kept running by the maintenance department but have accrued substantial miles. The district will fund the replacements from designated CTE funding lines and plans to sell the old vehicles at auction, a staff member said.
Trustees asked whether the vehicles would be traded or sold; administration responded they prefer auction sales. After discussion the board approved the full consent agenda, including the vehicle purchase, by a 7–0 vote.
The procurement will move forward under the consent-agenda approval and administration indicated details of the sale or trade-in would be handled by maintenance and procurement staff.
