Board unanimously approves TASB policy update and appoints trustees to bond committees

The Victoria ISD Board of Trustees approved a TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) local-policy update and appointed trustees to three bond-related selection committees during the meeting’s action portion.
Trustee Margaret Pruitt moved to adopt the TASB policy update; Bridgette Marshall seconded and the board approved the update by unanimous voice vote. The board then appointed trustee Bridgette Marshall and Micky Castella to the architectural services selection committee, trustee BJ Nelson and trustee Rick Jones to the engineering services selection committee, and trustees Mica Patton and Margaret Pruitt to the underwriter selection committee. Each committee appointment carried by a 7–0 vote.
Trustees discussed the purpose and scope of each committee during the preceding presentations and confirmed that the committees will evaluate RFQs, conduct interviews, and return ranked recommendations for final board approval and contract negotiation.
