Garcia said two students heard the statement and a deputy (identified in his remarks as Deputy Hauser) had described the assailant as male; he said his daughter later experienced a pounding headache and visual disturbances and that his child, who has an autism diagnosis, may not have recognized the threat. "My daughter deserves to be safe and not worry about unprovoked attacks," Garcia said. He asked why classroom staff had not previously noticed or reported the student's behavior and urged the district to improve its response. The board accepted the comment during the public‑testimony agenda item; no formal board action on the incident was recorded in the public portion of the meeting.
