Purchasing staff presented a request to authorize purchase of three fleet vehicles to replace aging units used by the Panhandle Auto Burglary/Theft Unit. Presenter said the vehicles are necessary because the current fleet is over 10 years old and starting to show wear; the total purchase price presented was $118,330 and most of the procurement will be reimbursed by a grant (PAD 2) with a county share of approximately $6,500.
Commissioners asked about trade-in plans and funding; staff confirmed trades would be used and that grant funds cover all but the county’s $6,500 portion. The court moved, seconded and approved the purchase 5-0.
