Bart said the two rentable buildings at the fairgrounds will be repainted to match other shelters, and the department is coordinating with the city engineer on bleacher disposition and potential reuse at a new fair site. Several magistrates suggested negotiating a joint, simplified ownership model — described in the meeting as an expansion of Millennium Park — so that maintenance, project funding and public use can be coordinated across city and county jurisdictions.
The court agreed to schedule a working session with city representatives and to form a small advisory group to discuss ownership boundaries, bidding for salvage, and next steps for joint funding of park projects.
