Highway supervisor updates commissioners on bridge work, paving and office repairs

Clint Maddox, Putnam County Highway Supervisor, presented the department’s current work plan and project updates during the Oct. 7 meeting.
Maddox listed storm-related tree cleanup, removal of old dugouts at the Armory, progress on the Houck, Rolling Stone and Edna Collins covered bridges, Manhattan Road engineering funding, a traffic sign inventory, Dunbar Bridge stage 1 construction plan review, an unofficial local detour (ULD) agreement process, and the Keightly Road paving project.
For office improvements, Maddox presented two flooring quotes; Commissioner Tom Helmer moved to select Hicks & Sons and the board approved the selection unanimously. The highway report was entered into the record and the board approved the related contractor selection.
