Cummins Mental Health seeks county sign-off to apply for up to $1 million Community Cares grant

Amy Mace, representing Cummins Mental Health, asked the commissioners for the county to be the applicant on a Community Cares grant that would fund a 24-hour crisis team.
Mace said the grant is due Friday and that, if fully funded, the request would be $1,000,000 over two years; she also said Cummins would write the grant and handle reporting. "To be fully funded they would request $1,000,000," Mace said. Commissioners approved the county serving as the applicant unanimously.
Mace told the board the applicant must be local government and that funds would flow through the county; the board did not publicly specify a contingency plan if the county’s role as fiscal agent presented administrative obstacles.
