During old-business public comment, resident Lane Ralph presented a letter from the public access council and told the board the Putnam County Tourism Bureau "is not representative of the people of Putnam County" and that it does not allow public access to records despite receiving about $350,000 a year. He said the League of Women Voters has sought the bureau's financial records and minutes for five years without success.
Commissioners did not take formal action at the Aug. 19 meeting but Berry and others acknowledged the complaint. The matter was left on the record for potential follow-up or future review of the bureau's contract.
