Kelly Russ presented the ordinance change and four ATV quotes. Russ said the EMS team preferred the Can Am over a Polaris Ranger because the Can Am offered additional storage, and she told the board the vehicle "would be in November of this year." Commissioners approved the ordinance revision and Helmer moved to purchase the Can Am Defender for $24,183.93; Woodall seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Russ told commissioners she had located government pricing and that the ATV purchase will be funded from the current EMS budget, which she said was overbudgeted. Commissioners discussed options such as two‑ or four‑door configurations and noted additional equipment and amenities would be installed at a later date.
Next steps: the county will place the order under the government quote provided and arrange installation of outfitting equipment; the ATV is expected to be available in November.
