Pasadena EDC to review bids; La Porte told construction could begin after October award

Ray Mayo reported that two bids were received for the planned 100-acre-foot pond and that Pasadena staff briefed La Porte earlier in the day. "2 bids were received for the project, and it's going before the Pasadena EDC board for approval this month, and, they're stating it would be awarded in October for construction," Mayo said. Committee members asked why the award would go to the EDC rather than Pasadena city staff; Mayo said the EDC is providing part of the project funding and therefore must approve and award the contract. Staff estimated construction could begin about 60 days after award, depending on contract execution and hauling logistics.
No formal La Porte action was recorded; the item was an update on an interjurisdictional project that will proceed through Pasadena's procurement and funding approvals.
