Harris County Flood Control updates Lomax channels; spoil removal and encroachments remain

Ray Mayo of Harris County Flood Control gave a photo-driven update on work in the Lomax area, saying the F101 channel begins at Lomax School Road, drains toward San Jacinto Bay, and that the F10106 drains parts of Battleground Estates into the F101 channel. He said the main body of excavation on the 101 Channel appears complete but that spoil removal remains outstanding in several narrow areas.
Mayo described a concrete-lined section near a pipeline crossing and said flood control is coordinating with property owners to remove encroachments such as a privately installed bridge and chain-link fence. On spoil handling he said a follow-up contractor will need to haul the spoil because the ditch alignment prevents dump trucks from accessing some spoil piles.
