House honors Clarksville Jeep Crew for rescue work during storms

Representative Ronnie Glenn introduced the resolution, noting the all-volunteer group ‘‘played a critical role helping hundreds of stranded drivers and transporting emergency and essential personnel’’ during the ice storm. The reading of the resolution listed operational figures included in the record: 276 vehicle recoveries, two ambulances and a police car among the vehicles assisted, and more than 1,053 volunteer hours logged during response efforts.
Barry Sullivan, who identified himself on the floor as representing the Clarksville Jeep Crew, told members the group was founded in 2019 and now counts more than 2,400 local members within about an hour of Clarksville. "We are simply a group of neighbors who believe when someone in our community needs help, the right answer is for us to show up," Sullivan said, thanking lawmakers for recognizing the volunteers.
Chad Hundley, who provided an updated tally on the crew’s response, told the House the crew mobilized 59 jeeps across Clarksville and surrounding areas, recorded 325 vehicle recoveries, 115 mission-essential transports and accumulated more than 1,250 service volunteer hours during recent events. Members invited the crew to the well for a photograph following the recognition.
No formal policy or funding decision was attached to the ceremonial resolution; the measure honored the crew’s rescue work and placed their appreciation on the legislative record.
