Committee approves multiple grant, contract and budget transmittals (votes at a glance)

The Wayne County Public Safety Committee recorded approvals on multiple transmittals during its Jan. 6 meeting. Items approved 4-0 included: authorization to apply for public safety grant programs (Sheriff’s Office and Emergency Management), an Out-of-State Travel Request (Sheriff’s Office), an amendment to the Wayne Pre‑Trial Services contract and the 2026 budget for a DCJS grant award, acceptance of the Criminal Justice Discovery Reform Grant (DA), additional West Publishing user accounts, additional Axon user licenses, an Office of Victim Services funding contract, a 2026 budget re‑appropriation for EMS training funds, and an agreement addendum with Flex Financial for Stryker EMS equipment.

The Committee also voted 4-0 to release an RFP for a system upgrade to the public safety radio system. Separately, the authorization to execute a contract with NYSTEC for RFP development was tabled until the Finance Committee meeting on Jan. 13, 2026, pending cost estimates and a proposed timeline.
