County Administrator Mark Humbert told the committee he is interested in strengthening Wayne County's workforce development efforts for residents of all ages, not only younger workers. Brian Pincelli described a new ACT‑style program focused on workforce readiness (as opposed to college readiness) that is beginning to gain traction, and said he has been in discussions with Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) about offering the program closer to Wayne County.
Supervisor Barry VanNostrand recommended the department reach out to local school districts to request a presence at career day events. The discussion was framed as planning and coordination; no formal action or funding decision on a new workforce program was recorded in the minutes.
