Public Health director says re-accreditation needs committee signature as county records 647 flu cases in December

Diane Devlin, Wayne County Public Health Director, told the Health and Medical Services Committee on Jan. 5 that “the Public Health department's re-accreditation paperwork requires signature by Mr. Rose in order to retain the current Health Director, who has already been actively working with the department.” She said the Community Health Assessment has been completed and submitted to the State and reported 647 cases of Influenza A during December.
The committee then considered and approved three Public Health transmittals recorded as Approved 5-0: authorization to certify and submit the 2026 Wayne County Public Health State Aid Application to the New York State Department of Health; authorization to submit the Pre-K Annual Administrative Costs Incurred Report for Wayne County Public Health; and authorization to sign a contract with the New York State Department of Health for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs program funding. The approvals were recorded with five supervisors voting yes (Gary Rose, Dave Fantuzzo, Christine Rice, Ben Aman, Mike Cramer). The actions authorizing state-aid paperwork and the contract will allow staff to proceed with required filings and program execution.
