District Attorney Christine Callanan told the Public Safety Committee that four new Assistant District Attorneys began work on Jan. 5. Callanan presented several transmittals for Committee approval: acceptance of the Criminal Justice Discovery Reform Grant from the Division of Criminal Justice Services, contracts to expand West Publishing user accounts and Axon user licenses, and a contract for Office of Victim Services funding. Each transmittal was approved by the Committee 4-0.
Callanan said the new hires expand the office’s capacity to handle cases and that the contracts and grant acceptance will support discovery workflows and victim services. The Committee recorded the approvals as routine transmittals in the meeting minutes.
