Coroner Phil Pettine announced to the Public Safety Committee on Jan. 6 that he has decided to run for re-election. Pettine reported the coroner’s office concluded the previous year with a total of 164 cases, including 78 autopsies.
Pettine additionally told the Committee that overdose-related cases and deaths have decreased from the prior period. The announcement was recorded as part of the Committee’s departmental reports and was not followed by a formal action or petition in the meeting record.
