NYSERDA funds to support county solar installations and EV chargers at Emerson Park

Planner Emily Antonacci told the committee that Cayuga County received two NYSERDA Clean Energy Communities grants totaling $135,000 (a $10,000 grant and a $125,000 grant) to support solar and EV infrastructure projects. Antonacci said the county will pair grant funds with IRA Direct Pay tax credits, NY-SUN incentives, and Make Ready utility incentives to fully cover components and installation costs for solar panels on the motor pool roof and parks offices and to install up to four public EV chargers at Emerson Park.
Construction and vendor procurement were described as anticipated to begin in the spring of 2025, and Antonacci said she is coordinating with the Purchasing Director, Highway Department and Parks & Trails to secure vendors and contractors.
