The Jackson County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 17 approved routine and personnel items, including minutes from Sept. 3, a payroll run of $551,027.53 and claims totaling $682,350.12.
Commissioner Matt Reedy moved to approve the Sept. 3 minutes; Commissioner Bob Gillaspy seconded. The minutes record “Three (3) yes votes, motion carried.” The board also approved payroll and claims after Commissioner Drew Markel made the motion and Gillaspy seconded.
The board approved a Health Department agreement to join the Indiana Health Information Exchange. Commissioner Reedy moved to approve the contract; Commissioner Gillaspy seconded and the record shows the motion carried. The board likewise approved a one-year contract for Lynn Montgomery to continue as Public Health Emergency Preparedness Coordinator (grant-funded) and a hiring arrangement for the Veterans Service Office through the Vantage Aging program; both motions were seconded and recorded as carried.
The meeting minutes note routine audit and treasurer reporting items and that the commissioners recessed until Oct. 1, 2024.
