Board approves NIPSCO directional bores under regulated drains for Seiler Road gas main

The Allen County Drainage Board approved ACHD/NIPSCO petitions to install a new 6-inch gas main in ACHD road right-of-way on the south side of Seiler Road. The work will be completed by directional bore under the Schmidt Drain and Bender No.2 Drain; the board approved both petitions Jan. 15, 2026.
ACSO recommended approval and the minutes note the board required a minimum boring depth: 5 feet below the lowest ditch grade or 3 feet below tile. The record states the existing 4-inch steel gas main will be retired in place. The motions were made by Ronald W. Turpin and seconded by Richard E. Beck Jr.
