Jim Tidd told the council that MCEDA convened a selection committee and selected American Structurepoint to perform a Countywide Economic Development Strategy study at a quoted cost of about $92,000. The cost would be split three ways among the City of Peru, Miami County and MCEDA; Miami County's requested share is $30,500 from CEDIT. MCEDA had sought USDA grant assistance but the request was denied.
Councilman Fruth moved to advertise the appropriation request; Councilman Chittum seconded and the motion passed 7-0, allowing the county to proceed with formal advertisement of the appropriation and next steps for local cost-sharing.
