The board began its annual reorganization under M.G.L. Chapter 34, Section 4, but nominations produced split paper-ballot results and an initial request from Commissioner Gregory M. Hanley to table the item because Commissioner Sandra M. Wright was absent. According to the minutes, "Attorney Resnick advised a temporary chair could be voted on for this meeting."
After brief discussion and the paper-ballot results, Commissioner Hanley declined the initial nomination but later agreed to act as temporary chair for the Jan. 27 session so the meeting could proceed. The reorganization issue will return when the full board can participate.
